Chesham’s friendly community sports centre, with gym, tennis and a historic open air pool. Our sports facility began life as a deep puddle used for bathing in the 1890s! Now our pool is heated all year round to approximately 28ºC.

We have a gym with natural light – very friendly and relaxed, people of all ages and abilities can exercise here, whether new to exercise or in specific training. In recent months we have made adjustments to keep everyone safely distanced.

Our courts are available for tennis, and when restrictions are lifted, we’ll be back to making them available for basketball and 5-a-side too.

Cleaned solar panels April 2020 lockdown

Chesham Moor is a beautiful area, and over the years we’ve developed and maintained gardens and wild flower areas to the front of our sports centre, with much thanks to volunteers, as well as staff.

In 2012 our outdoor pool was the first in the UK with a NASA designed ionisation unit, meaning low chlorine levels in the
pool, and less skin irritation and  for those who have eczema for example. Solar panels were fitted in 2011, saving an estimated four tonnes of CO2 every year.

We aim to meet the changing needs of society, while maintaining our wonderful historic outdoor pool, as well as the court and gym, for the benefit of the community. Chesham Moor Gym and Swim has been managed by Chesham Town Council since 1987.

2020 was obviously a very different year for all of us, but we have adapted the centre and schedules to help keep everyone safe, and our members have felt very happy to be back after each lockdown.
